Tranche Size Comparison

Determines which §904(d) basket this entry belongs to. General = wages/salary. Passive = interest, dividends, royalties. Foreign Branch = branch business income. GILTI = Global Intangible Low-Taxed Income. Re-sourced = income re-sourced by treaty. §901(j) = income from sanctioned countries. Each basket is tracked and limited separately — they cannot be netted against each other.

Estimated = deduct or none year — pool legally persists but not confirmed by a filed Schedule B. Expiry clock still runs. Confirmed = FTC year with Form 1116 and Schedule B filed — carryover officially on record with IRS.
